I-REACT, Improving Resilience to Emergencies through Advanced Cyber Technologies

We are happy to inform that the multinational project I-REACT just started and that TU Wien is one of two university partners in the project.

I-REACT is an innovation project funded by the European Commission with a budget of 6.6M€ for a duration of 3 years including 20 partners from 9 European countries. I-REACT will implement a platform that, thanks to advanced technologies, will be able to gather and analyze various data sources to generate real-time information on floods, fires, earthquakes and other natural hazards. The role of the Research Group Remote Sensing, TU Wien in this project is to design and develop a flood mapping system using Sentinel-1 high resolution imagery. The flood mapping system will utilize the high performance computing facilities, Big data storage and services of the Earth Observation Data Center (EODC).
