Ph.D. Defences of H. Krásná and J. Sun

Two interesting and profilic rigorosa were held in quick succession at the research group Advanced Geodesy: On 31 January 2013, Hana Krásná defended her Ph.D. thesis 'Estimation of solid Earth tidal parameters and FCN with VLBI' and was equal to the task of answering the comprehensive questions of her examiners, Prof. Harald Schuh (GFZ Potsdam), Prof. Rüdiger Haas (Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg), Prof. Johannes Böhm, and Dr. Jan Vondrák (Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague). The following day, it was Jing Sun's turn to defend her thesis 'VLBI scheduling strategies with respect to VLBI2010' against the challenges of Prof. Harald Schuh, Dr. John Gipson (Goddard Space Flight Center), Prof. Rüdiger Haas, and Prof. Johannes Böhm. Afterwards, the relieved testees celebrated with their examiners and colleagues.
