We invite you to a talk on
Earth Observation data management and processing at JRC:
current situation and future needs
by Pierre Soille and Armin Burger, JRC
Earth Observation activities at JRC are occurring in numerous projects within 3 scientific institutes. These projects are briefly reviewed with respect to their data management and processing infrastructures while highlighting some use cases such the automatic creation of 2.5m pan-European mosaic and the mapping of human settlements at global scale. Following the start of the Sentinel era, the need for a new approach to big EO data management and processing is then put forward and analysed.
