Luca obtained his bachelor and master degree in Agricultural Sciences at the University of Milan (Italy) in 2014 and 2016, respectively.
During his master studies, Luca spent one semester at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna, where he completed his thesis about canopy Nitrogen content estimation using Sentinel-2 data. After graduation, he spent 5 months as visiting student at KAUST, Saudi Arabia, working on crop classification using Landsat imagery.
In August 2017, Luca joined the CLIMERS group and is now an associated student of the Vienna Doctoral Programme on Water Resource Systems. Luca is interested in estimating crop yield and in quantifying the impact of water stress on vegetation productivity. For answering such questions he intends to combine models, remotely sensed data, and field measurements.
