The research unit Geoinformation (GIScience) of the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformation (GEO) is looking for a
to work part time (30 hrs/w) for 2 or 3 months during the summer holidays (July – September).
The Geoinformation group (https://geoinfo.geo.tuwien.ac.at/) engages in research relating to Spatial Human-Computer Interaction, Spatial Machine Learning, Wayfinding and Mobile Decision Making, Location-based Human Information Behaviour and Location-Based Services, alike. We aim to understand and model wayfinding human behaviour, find ways how to exploit AR and VR technologies to assist wayfinders and apply deep learning methods to semantically enriched geographic information.
Strong programming skills in Python or C# and the ability to work independently are required. Sound knowledge in machine learning, computational geometry or Augmented Reality technologies are a plus. The specific tasks of the successful applicant will be negotiated upon the start of the summer job, taking the applicant’s personal interests and level of knowledge into account.
The salary for this position is based on the Austrian regulations for university staff. The monthly minimum salary will be € 1.587,45 (gross, for 30 hours per week).
